"Restoring America's Heritage of Parent-Governed Education"

PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of The Montgomery Institute is biblically-based and family-centered. A search of the Scriptures demonstrates that the teaching of children is to be primarily about the Lord; who He is, what He has commanded, and what He has done. This is accomplished through the Biblical Principle Approach to education, and the 4-R method of instruction. Additionally, the Bible clearly places parents in the governing position over their children's education. The Montgomery Institute believes and honors this.

THE BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE APPROACH

The educational philosophy of The Montgomery Institute is founded in seven clearly identifiable principles from God's Word. Namely, these principles are as follows:

  • Sovereignty
  • Individuality
  • Government
  • Character
  • Stewardship
  • Sowing & Reaping
  • Covenant

THE 4-R'S

The educational method of instruction at The Montgomery Institute follows the 4-R's.

  • Researching
  • Reasoning
  • Relating
  • Recording

Through this method of instruction the content of each subject truly becomes a part of the student's property, and the Biblical truth revealed in each subject is planted in their heart.

FAMILY-CENTERED

The Montgomery Institute exists to serve parents in fulfilling their God-ordained responsibility to govern their children's education. This is done through training the parents in the Biblical philosophy of education, and providing a number of services to assist and direct their children's academic training.
